ANCIENT EGYPT

Storytelling
Storytelling traditional folk tales or creation myths as told by the Ancient Egyptians.

Dance
Led by qualified teacher and professional dancer Dechen Chodron. Some schools ask that we perform a story for everyone, then offer the children the choice of performing either as storytellers, or as Egyptian dancers. The children are given workshops in their chosen artform. By the afternoon, parents are invited in to watch their children perform!

Exhibition
Following our visit to Egypt in September 2003, we are pleased to announce a massive expansion in our Ancient Egyptian theme. We now also offer an exhibition of photography, sculpture, and traditional papyrus artwork. The sculpture and papyrus depict a variety of ancient Egyptian gods and goddesses, and of course we tell stories about them to place them in context. The photography depicts ancient temples, the Valley of the Kings where Ancient Egypt's Pharaohs are entombed, scenes from the River Nile, and village life. With photos taken from the ground, accompanied by aerial photographs taken from a hot air balloon, these given a truly stunning perspective of the subject.
