ANCIENT BRITAIN

From ancient Irish legends of Tier na Noag - the Land of the Ever Young - to tales of the Welsh bard magician Taliessin, and English tales of King Arthur and his court, we strive to celebrate the wonderful oral tradition of the island we call home.

We offer workshops in outdoor theatre skills - teaching story, dance, and music that culminates in participants offering a magical outdoor theatre experience in front of a live audience. Our recent three year production Listen To The Land Speaking rekindled a now thriving tradition of storytelling, dance and music at Chalice Well Gardens in Glastonbury. The bardic tradition had lain dormant at this site for over 70 years, but most events there now regularly attract hundreds of visitors.

Adrian has been honoured by being crowned the Green King of Chalice Well for 2005 - 2006, and Dechen has been crowned the White Lady. These two ancient figures symbolise the fertile strength of the wild wood - the rising of the land at the coming of Spring, the sap flowing full of life in every branch and leaf and root of every tree.

Most events follow the traditional ceremonial dates of our land, such as the Winter and Summer solstices, Imbolc, Beltane and so on.

We have now built several fully sized stone circles in sites across England and Wales. We look forward to helping you with yours if you wish to power point your land in an ancient ritual of story, song, dance, and stone circle creation that will last for centuries.

We also participate at a wide variety of outdoor events from small summer camps to large festivals of the arts such as Glastonbury Festival. Once we have performed organisers always invite us back on an annual basis so we are glad to have a growing number of familiar faces we only meet at such events.

And to all those punters out there who reappear time and again for a fresh feast of stories, thanks so much for your continued dedication!
